Exposing The Truth

Hoppers Crossing Christian Church is a small home based church in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. Over the past two to three years since inception, we have become concerned about the state of the Christian Church in western society and have therefore embarked on a mission to spread the truth about what we are seeing.

Please visit our blogg and weekly sermon pages to view some hard hitting truth about what Christianity is and what the Bible says about living as a Christian.

Today we still see Trump trying to win a war that looks more and more every day as if he’s losing. Prophecy demonstrates that it is the revived Roman empire that the coming antichrist leads. This is very unlikely to mean USA, so much so that at some stage USA is going to leave Israel on her own to fight against her enemies. Trump has already stated that he has told Israel that they should make peace in Lebanon and that he expects Israel to do as they are told. When Israel recently said that they had no choice but to retaliate after hezbollah had fired missiles at northern Israel, Trump said that this wasn’t good but no-one was hurt and so Israel should just be more patient. The Iran-USA peace agreement continues to remain on very shaky ground, with Iran choosing to set their own rules whenever they can, such as continuing to target ships in the Strait of Hormuz in spite of an alleged agreement to allow it to be open and free for 60 days. Trump said that peace in Lebanon was never part of the agreement yet Iran uses the fighting there to excuse their attacks. Iran is playing a game known in their area of the world as “hudna”: a strategic ceasefire for the purpose of regrouping and rebuilding their attack capabilities for future aggression. “It can be seen as a temporary pause in hostilities, sometimes allowing for regrouping before further conflict. In contemporary discussions, particularly regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a hudna can be seen as a tactical maneuver. It is often viewed with skepticism, as it may provide an opportunity for one side to strengthen its position before resuming hostilities.” That is, they play the game that permits them to “negotiate” yet really buying time to permit them to be more prepared in the future. Iran is not negotiating for peace; they are playing the hudna game. Iranian warfare philosophy says that they only respect might and power; any efforts made to negotiate peace agreements are usually seen as weakness to be played. Thus it is clear that while Iran “negotiates”, they will be using those “negotiations” preparing for the next round of warfare.

It is also clear that Iran considers Trump to be weak. They are pushing the limits as much as they can, hitting out with seeming impunity as if to say: “What are you going to do about it?” Iran has picked up on Trump’s obvious reluctance to keep this war going for too long, and is using this to try to manipulate Trump’s responses. Trump often makes very aggressive statements and then holds out a carrot for Iran to avoid the aggression. This is likely to be seen by Iran as weakness, an inability to follow through with much of his rhetoric. (For this reason Trump is sometimes known as TACO: Trump Always Chickens Out. Whether true or not, Iran is playing this as hard as they can.) Trump is facing problems at home with unpopularity building (even among some of his supporters) and some in the US government threatening to hold off funding. There are also strong hints that the upcoming Primaries may not be as supportive for Trump if he continues with this war for too long. Trump does not want the war to continue for much longer, and thus he puts pressure on Israel to not rock the boat too much in case the war flares up again. There are already cracks in the relationship between USA and Israel; this looks likely to cause a serious rift soon.

If Iran (probably with allies, particularly Russia and Turkey) declares war on Israel, then the end is indeed very near indeed, for this is what prophecy says will happen. God will put hooks in their jaws and draw them into battle against Israel (Ezekiel 38:4-5). When this occurs, if you haven’t already done so, get right with God by calling upon His name to be saved (Romans 10:13), for time then is very short. A seven-year period of extreme conflict upon the whole earth is immanent, culminating with Armageddon (which will literally mark the end of the world as we know it today).

Israel’s enemies as listed in Ezekiel 38 will come against the land of Israel. There will be a great shaking (which could indicate nuclear warfare) in Israel; mountains will be levelled and “every wall shall fall to the ground”. (Ezekiel 38:18-20) This does appear to demonstrate use of exceptionally powerful bombs, probably nuclear. Iran has been working hard to get nuclear weapons developed, but even if they don’t, Russia does have a huge arsenal of powerful weapons including nuclear warheads that can be carried on hypersonic missiles that Israel’s defences may struggle to block. In any case, it appears that Israel will be invaded by a huge multi-national army In Ezekiel 38:21-23 God brings savage justice to this invading army. “I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.” (Vss 22-23) Prophecy in Ezekiel 39:1-6 says that this huge invading army will be totally defeated. All the people in the invading army will fall upon the mountains of Israel, and upon the open field. God will send a fire upon their nations and they will know that God is the Lord.
Ezekiel 39:7So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.

So how does Israel end up wiping out a huge army that they were unable to prevent from invading? Prophecy in Daniel 9:26-27 tells us that  a leader will come from the nation that destroyed Jerusalem and the temple in 70AD. He will make a covenant with Israel for seven years (“one week”). It was the Roman empire that destroyed Jerusalem in 70AD and therefore this leader will be from that same empire. known as the revived Roman empire (understood to be Europe today). This leader is the antichrist of that final seven-year tribulation period, and he will lead a European army against the invading armies in Israel, wiping them out, probably with nuclear weaponry, completely destroying them Prophecy suggests that not one will return home again. Prophecy also suggests that their home nations will also be savaged by the antichrist’s weaponry. Israel’s enemies might win the first round by invading Israel, but their victory will be very short-lived indeed. And while the antichrist is never named as such in the Bible, he will be a ruthless dictator who will seek to rule the world in that final seven years before Armageddon. He will be dominated by satan who will seek to rule the world through his servant, the antichrist, promising world peace and prosperity, but will be destroyed by Christ at Armageddon.
